Stain-Removal Hacks You Can Do in Minutes

You don’t have to spend a good bulk of your time removing stubborn stains, here are some quick stain-removal hacks you can do in minutes.

1.  Lipstick Stain Removal

Fire-engine red may look good on the lips but not on clothes. A quick way to get rid of it is to simply dab gently with a wet wipe or use a clean cotton cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol. The trick is to press and blot gently.

2.  Water-rings on Wood

Don’t you just hate those unsightly white circles on your wood furniture. Use your hair dryer to zap it away. Finish off with a furniture polisher or oil.

3.  Oil on Carpet

Oil can seep into your carpet and stay there for good so it is important to act quickly. Treat the area with a good dusting of baking soda and let it absorb the oil for 15 minutes and then vacuum. Blot the remaining stain away with a sponge dipped in mixture of 1 tablespoon dishwashing liquid and vinegar in 2 cups of warm water. Repeat process as needed.

4.  Blood

These stains are by far the easiest to remove. Fresh stains can be removed by blotting away with a simple baby wipe. Dried up stains can be removed with a bit of hydrogen peroxide, you will be the bubble up, wipe it away with a damp cloth and out comes the stain.

5.  Grass

These stains are quite difficult to remove, especially in jeans. Dab some rubbing alcohol or vinegar on the stain to dissolve the chlorophyll in the grass stain. Let it air dry and then wash with detergent and rinse as usual. You may need to repeat the process more than once.
